How to qualify

To qualify for Homeless HAP your local authority must decide that you:

  • are homeless and have no other accommodation choices
  • need extra support to get a suitable rental home

Homeless HAP Place Finder supports

The Place Finder Service in your local authority may:

  • help you to find a suitable property to rent
  • pay the deposit for a property to your landlord or agent
  • pay rent in advance to your landlord or agent
  • go above the HAP rent limit by up to 35% outside the Dublin area
  • go above the HAP rent limit by up to 50% inside the Dublin area

To apply for Homeless HAP you must contact your local authority.
